In my early years of wedding photography, I learnt from a mentor that weddings should be a celebration, and not a show. Many couples today understandably get caught up with the day’s activities, but some get so stressed out that they end up being eager to get the day over and done with.
Not so for John and Jillian. Their wedding was laid-back, fun, yet intimate. If there was such a thing as an epitome of wedding celebrations, to me theirs would be it. From beginning to end, the couple seemed to exude a never-ending supply of sunshine and I could really tell that the couple was enjoying themselves (as was I!)
The evening banquet was held at the charming Alkaff Mansion and the live band was top notch. But it all really boiled down to the people who made the evening beautiful; the guests present were so spontaneous and genuine that they could only be people close to the couple’s heart. I heard that the after-party even ended at 2am!
When we met up after the wedding, I remember John saying how much he enjoyed his wedding and that he wished he could get married again. Shouldn’t every wedding be like that? 😉
